Hi,

I've been having a problem with viewing some flash objects lately and
I've tracked it down to Flashblock.

The FAQ item "Some flash objects disappear if Adblock is also
installed" adequately describes the symptoms, except I just uninstalled
Adblock Plus and the behavior remains.

I want to say the problems started occurring a month or so ago and does
not happen everywhere, just the important places like The Daily Show.
:-)  OTher places that showed the problem include Hulu, CSPAN, etc.
YouTube was not adversely affected.

Last night, I upgraded to Flash plugin v. 10 and now most of the
commercial sites (Comedy Central, Hulu, etc.) work where they didn't
before, but mostly everything else (Youtube, FunnyOrDie, etc.) don't
work, if Flashblock is enabled.

To be more specific:

My testing methodolgy is to refresh/reload two web pages: a The Daily
Show short video(TDSSV)[1] and an Eddy Izzard YouTube video(ELYV)[2].

With Flashblock DISabled, both clips play upon reload.

With Flashblock ENabled and TDS whitelisted, the following occurs:
TDSSV plays fine[3], ELYV displays the "Play button".  Pushing said Play
Button causes the button to disappear and a white area is displayed.
Nothing else occurs.

With Flashblock ENabled and TDSSV NOT whitelisted, both clips show the
play button.  ELYV acts as stated above.  Pushing "Play" on the TDSV
causes a white area to display and a few seconds later, the audio of the
clip is heard.

Running Firefox 3.0.2 and flash-plugin-10.0.12.36-release on CentOS 5.0.

[3]Interestingly enough, with Flashblock enabled, the ad in the
beginning of TDSSV is skipped.  Kudos for that!

YouTube and a few other sites are a known problem with Firefox 3.0x

The Firefox developers tried to fix it a few times but every time they
tried it, it caused other things to break.
