Hi,

First of all, thank you for this great plugin! :) However, using firefox3 beta5 + flashblock 1.5.5, it seems to block non-flash (and non-silverlight) content. We (LogMeIn, inc) are developing a remote control solution between computers, and our client runs as a browser plugin. Unfortunately, flashblock blocks us. We're embedding our plugin into the website as follows:

See, there is nothing flashy here, but the content is blocked anyway. Sadly, this is a big problem for us, because we're checking if the plugin is loaded correctly, and if it isn't, we're falling back to a non-native remote control mechanism (java, and then static html). So our users do not really have the chance to manually activate the plugin, by clicking on the 'f' placeholder button. I suppose this could be a bug in flashblock itself, because your intention is not to block every plugin object on the earth :) Could you please have a look at it?

Hi,

Yes I'm aware that in certain cases silverlight and java and
other non-flash objects are inadvertently blocked. I'm not
sure why but I'll check on it. Do you have an example webpage
with your embedded object?

In the meantime try putting the website with your object into
the Flashblock whitelist (right click on the FB placeholder,
and select "allow flash from this site").

I've attached a very simple testpage. (Note: our plugin won't do anything interesting here, because of the missing parameterlist). If you'd like to, I'll try to put this somewhere online as well (flashblock does not block local file:// URIs, am I right?)

Whitelisting logmein.com really helps (thanks for the hint!), but telling this to every single logmein user is not the best solution :)

One more thing: this problem only occurs with firefox3. FF2 + FB works just great.

I went to this URL and clicked on the Flashblock placeholder
and the video started playing. By the way Flashblock doesn't
work when NoScript is active. Try using the flash blocker
built in to NoScript instead.

Ringtones are available from www.phonezoo.com. You can preview a 
ringtone by clicking the right arrow next to each. However with 
Flashblock 1.5.6 enabled no sound is heard. Other add-ons do not cause 
this problem. I would like to continue using Flashblock if this was 
fixed. Thanks!

This site depends on a flash based audio player. The easiest way
would be to add www.phonezoo.com to the Flashblock whitelist.
Unfortunately this will also allow in flash ads as they come from
the same location.

The other way would be to click on the small flashblock placeholder
right at the bottom of the page that appears everytime you hit the
right arrow next to each entry, but it has to be done every time.

Phil,

thanks for the workaround. Adding www.phonezoo.com to the whitelist 
solved the problem. (I had forgotten about the Flashblock 'options' 
button.) fyi ... I couldn't get your second suggestion to work ... 
clicking the flashblock place holder. But the whitelist works for me.

It's terribly unintuitive I agree. First click on any of the
pages play buttons (not flashblock), then scroll all the way
to the bottom of the page. There will be a very small flash-
block placeholder right at the bottom left, then you'll need
to click on that. I think there is another small (32x32)
flashblock placeholder at the top of the list of ringtones
that you also need to click, and you need to click them in
the right order.

How can I get flashblock to reinstall?

Dell Dimension 2350 P42.4ghz/512megs/Winxphome sp1
I just upgraded from Mozilla 1.7.3 to Seamonkey 1.1.9.  (uninstalled Moz 
but didn't touch profile or leftover program folders/files and rebooted 
before installing Seamonkey.
I had an older version of Flashblock installed in Mozilla.  After 
upgrading to seamonkey flashblock still worked but didn't have newer 
features like whitelist.  I uninstalled flashblock with mnheny but 
missed the part about renaming usercontent.css.  Restarted Seamonkey.  
Tried to install Flashblock 1.3.9 from the installation2 page.  It 
failed with the Chrome Registration error.  I tried two more times. 
uninstalling with extension uninstaller the second time and mnheny 
again. Here is the log file:

Hi, I love your product.  I would if you could add a little bit of functionality to it.  By default in Firefox, you can right click an image to get the choice to block the domain from which the images is hosted, while still allowing other images from the actual URL to display.  This should work the same way in Flashblock.  So, I would like to be able to right click Flash media, and block Flash media specifically from that domain, while allowing Flash media on the same page from a different domain.  Also, this "blacklist" as it were, should be able to be exported to a text file for portability.
