I am not very satisfied with Flashblock, especially with its small Options possibilities ! 1.) User can allow flashes "from this site", but it doesn't mean this site really, but the site of the clicked flash animation. That is actually wrong style of allowing something unknown, which site is not visible for user ! When I allow it, so it is immediately written into white list and it will not be blocked more, but a man usually want to see it once and then block it again ! Therefore the way is the blocking switch, where it is possible to see the all flashes on the page and then again via switch it OFF, to block them again. ...because Firefox performance is hardly dependent on number of Tabs and the number of Flashes displayed on all browsed pages in tabs, and therefore it is a very important to have such plugin or tool as your Flashblock as well. 2.) But the problem is, I would like to see what is the Flash about, to see the 1st static picture of the flash at least and the best way would be to let the flashes play, but just once, without replays in a cycle and then switch them off or just displaying the last animation picture of the flash... And the best could be to have any context menu or Hotkey or Menu item in Firefox, which could play the selected flash or all flashes in the page, but without allowing of all flashes from that site. Thanks for your work and for the reading my critics, bye for now, Juro -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... To do this you can drag the Flashblock icon to your firefox toolbar (right click on the back button -> customize toolbar). If you click the icon, Flashblock is disabled until you click the icon again. > *2.)* But the problem is, I would like to see what is the Flash > about, to see the 1st static picture of the flash at least > and the best way would be to let the flashes play, but just once, > without replays in a cycle and then switch them off or just displaying > the last animation picture of the flash... I don't know if this is possible. Once Flash starts, is there a way to stop it? More to the point, is there a way to stop it that can't be disabled by the web designer? There is a complicated and not very dependable way of stopping a flash movie depending on what parameters are set on the object. The more important question is when to stop it. Juro says to let it play once. But what if it is a very loud streaming 45 minute flash movie? "Once" means 45 minutes of annoyance. Showing just the first frame is technically very difficult if not impossible using the current architecture of Flashblock. You might have better luck using a greasemonkey script to interrogate a flash movie and issue fscommands to it. But I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. In either case I believe that Flashblock should remain a small lightweight extension that does only one thing and does it well. Trying to bloat it with creeping featuritist isn't the way to go. If that is the direction then writing an elaborate Greasemonkey script might be better. And lastly Flashblock is open source. If anyone disagrees with our direction, he or she is free to fork it and add whatever features they want. Just my 0.02 draskoobleniks. Phil
