Good day all,
I (a Firefox user) was wondering if there are plans for Flashblock to
work with javascript *disabled* as well?
Would that be a lot more difficult to implement? How does the *Adblock*
(adblock.mozdev.org) extension do its job? Adblock works even if
javascript is disabled. What is the difference in implementations? Why
is javascript required for Flashblock to work?
I'm looking for an ideal (secure an non-annoying) browsing exprerience,
and the *NoScript* extension is definitely part of it (this extension
*disables* javascript per default, but there is a UI for the user to
enable javascript on trusted sites). See
(http://www.noscript.net/faq#qa1_3 .
However, I would really like to be able to use Flashblock as well..
I had a look at bug bug 10264,
http://bugzilla.mozdev.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10264 (resolved as invalid)
but that just refers back to the Known Problems page,
http://flashblock.mozdev.org/problems.html . I think this bug is highly
valid, and should be either reopened, or re-resolved as a WONTFIX --
with clearly stated motivations for this in the documentation (FAQ or
Known Problems page) :-)
Best regards
Hugo Heden
