[Fasterfox] Prefetch question

Tom,

Thanks for your email, and you are very wise for asking this question.

Mozilla prefetching limits what can be prefetched; see this FAQ for details:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/netlib/Link_Prefetching_FAQ.html

On top of the Mozilla limitations, Fasterfox's Enhanced Prefetching further
limits what can be prefetched by restricting it to only files with the
extension .htm, .html, .gif, .jpg, .png, .txt, and .pdf. So no dynamic
files (.asp, .jsp, .php, etc.), files with no extension, or files with a
query string will be prefetched.

This being said, prefetching should not cause problems with your web based
admin stuff, and if it does, I'd be very interested to hear about it and see
how I might be able to correct it.

Many other users have asked for a prefetching "whitelist" of sites to
exclude, and this is definitely on the road map for a future release.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, ideas, or suggestions.

Thanks,
Tony

Subject: [Fasterfox] Prefetch question

I have just installed Fasterfox and it all looks good and is much
faster.

I just want to know if I should be using the prefetch stuff or not,
I work on lots of websites that have web based admin areas etc, these
sites have links that could cause all kinds of problems if the
prefetch were to hit them.. I have turned this off for now but is
there a way to exclude some domains from prefetch ?

Thanks

Tom
