[Fasterfox] 1/3rd of the firefox taken up by strange code

i installed FasterFox and it seems to have broken my firefox.
i tried unistalling FasterFox and it didn't go away.
i tried reinstalling it and still broken.
i unistalled then tried running the firefox setup to see if i could get my
firefox back with all my bookmarks and whatnot, and nothing.
then i tried installing 1.5 beta, which worked fine, except most of my
extensions don't work with it, so i tried rolling back.
the bottom third of my firefox is some garbage code, is there any help for
me?
a way to surgically remove the code or something?
