[Fasterfox] Fasterfox makes Firefox go faster - really?

I see all these claims that Fasterfox is great, speeds up downloads
and a lot more subjective views... Is there anyone who has done some
quantitative measurements? With and without Fasterfox? I uninstalled Fasterfox because I could
not see any improvement on speeds after a month's use . (Shame - as the idea sounds good).
