Hi Miguel,

Good question, and thanks for checking.

AdSense ads are most definitely not prefetched by Fasterfox. The actual
link for AdSense is something like "/pagead/iclk?sa=...", where the "..." is
an encoded string that tells AdSense which link was clicked.

Fasterfox uses Firefox's built in prefetching mechanism which always ignores
any link that contains a "?". You can see for yourself here:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/netlib/Link_Prefetching_FAQ.html

If you still aren't convinced, I have AdSense on the
http://fasterfox.mozdev.org, and my CTR currently is a measly 0.9%.

Hope this helps, and please let me know if you have more questions around
this or prefetching in general.

Tony

Subject: Problems with Fasterfox and Google AdSense

Hi.

I manage a blog devoted to Google and just published a post about
hypothetical problems of Fasterfox and AdSense ads, because the tool
could be prefetching also these links, making Google punish some
webmasters due to click fraud.

Do you have any information about it?

I've been reading your FAQ and you claim Fasterfox only prefetches
".gif, .htm, .html, .jpeg, .jpg, .pdf, .png, .text, .txt, and .xml" links,
so
it doesn't affect AdSense links, does it?

Best regards,
