Webmail is often dicey.  Some people have had good luck using FireGPG
with webmail; other people don't.  There are also some security concerns
with webmail which are not present when you're using a regular,
conventional email program.

With respect to regular email that you get through Thunderbird -- yes,
OpenPGP works with any service provider.

The mailing list is the best way.  If someone has the same questions as
you, they can Google it and find this thread.  If you send it via
private mail, though, there's no Google record made.
