Exactly my point.
Using PGP/MIME did not exhibit the problem in the first place.
The puzzling part was the fact, that the behavior was dependent on
local mailer visual option, rather than the senders'. That is why my
attempts to explain the behavior failed miserably before: the people I
was trying to explain this to had this option (flowed text) turned
off.
