Within Thunderbird.
Go to
OpenPGP -> Preferences.
On the tab "Basic" in the field "Files and Directories" the path should
be entered. The exact location may vary with the Linux distribution or
if you have a self compiled version of gpg. Usually gpg resides in
/usr/bin or in /usr/local/bin. You can determine it easily by typing
"which gpg" on the command line.
Be sure to enter the exact output of the which command (it contains gpg
at the end) like
/usr/local/bin/gpg
