you definitely should get an OS that receives security fixes or you'll be
"owned" sooner or later.

To make *sure* you'll have settings that do work realiably, create a new
profile and import things. Takes time once, saves hassles later.

Oops, we differentiate two possibilities to install extensons/addons in
Mozilla Suite / Seamonkey: globally (= installed in the *program directory*)
and profile (=installed in the *user profile*).

Ah, so your profile is messed. Don't try to repair, create a NEW profile!
