I would never presume to "yank your chain".

1) I stated that current email evolved from file transfer.

2) You stated that the FTP and SMTP RFCs didn't overlap.

3) I pointed to an multiple FTP RFCs that mention and
~   document FTP being used to handle email transfers.

4) You state that Tomlinson created email in 1971.

5) I point out that Tomlison added to a file transfer tool
~   to create his "first email" which he credits as NOT being
~   the first email.

I am saying (and backing it up with references)
that file transfer tools are directly linked to
the development of email in any of it's existences.

You can choose to disagree with the evidence.

I don't.
