Agreed, but the OP was talking about signing AND encryption and whether
he/she had created the keypair correctly.

As I understood it, this list is for discussing Enigmail, a front end
to GPG, not GPG itself.

There is an official gnupg-users list and an unofficial GnuPG/PGP
(PGP-Basics)  list to do that and advise on whether a key has been
created correctly.  There is also a PGP-Basics-OT list with little
traffic to which you can send PGP/MIME signed messages to test your
keys, but you can't guarantee a fast reply.

I simply meant to say to the OP that finding out whether your key has
been created correctly is not a a matter for this list.  It may be for
list members communicating privately off-list, but there is a list who
has been set up for the purpose as well: PGP-Basics.
