Hi John, thank you for your quick reply.

I am pretty sure that I uploaded my public key to the first server you
recommend, following the enigmail quick start guide.  could it be that
it takes some time to be available?  I just tried to retrieve my
husband's public key, but couldn't find it either.  He just created and
uploaded it.
