If that was a rant, then I should definitely apologize to Mr. Kane [*].
He introduced himself to the community and shared a high hope he had.
I respect that enthusiasm; I have tried very hard to have that kind of
enthusiasm myself; I do not wish to do anything to stomp on that enthusiasm.

His desired goal is an admirable Promised Land, but if we keep our eyes
on that we'll never get there. We need to remember the Promised Land,
but keep our eyes on the treacherous rocks ahead. Making it easier to
use is something we can absolutely, definitely do. Making it easy to
use is something that will happen only as a consequence of a very
long-term focus on making it incrementally, step-by-step, easier to use.

... Of course, if that _wasn't_ a rant, then I would suggest following
this link:

	http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=acerbic

Frankly, my vote is on "I was being acerbic" as opposed to "I was ranting".

[*] Given that 'Michael' is occasionally a woman's name, if I have erred
in my pronoun assumption, I hope Ms. Kane will forgive me.
