That is actually not true. Recent versions of Enigmail (v0.95.3 and
newer) correctly detect gpg4win and fully support it; there is nothing a
user needs to do anymore after installing gpg4win.

Using gpg4win is at least as good as using the regular gnupg.org
installer, with the difference that Gpg4win comes with some useful
additions that make life easier.
