[Enigmail] Current version: Incompatibility with Firefox? - and TB?Workround requested

Innocently agreed to update to Tbird the other night to TB2.0.0.6 and 
was told that it was disabling Enigmail.

I have subsequently tried to download current Enigmail via Firefox and 
from TB. TB denies all knowledge. Firefox gives me: " Enigmail 0.95.3 
could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox"

Am running XP as OS, no other mail clients running and have been running 
FFX/TB/Enigmail combination VERY happily for months.

Does anyone have a workround or better still know what  the solution is?
