Yes, why not :o)
There was an excellent extension called mozedit : 
http://mozedit.mozdev.org/ but it has to be repacked for firefox 1.0, now.
There is also an excellent page editor called nvu : http://www.nvu.com

I have not enough time to do something, though it would be quite 
interresting.
