I'll consider that in the future.

A workaround is to extract the sound files that are bundled with the
extension, overwrite them with your own sound files, and then bundle
them back together again.

If you go to the extensions installation directory
(../extensions/{abcd}/chrome/popupsound.jar), you can use WinZip or
WinRar to open up popupsound.jar and extract the three sound files
"click.wav", "popup.wav" and "download.wav". Then overwrite them and
zip them back up.

Then go into "about:config" or open your
"../profile/default.abcd/user.js" file and reset or delete
(respectively) the three preferences for the sound URLs. Then the
default ones will be loaded again.
