<p>The goal: A piece of software to be distributed freely which would log <br>the URL typed in the address bar and then check a server to see if <br>that URL is good/bad..etc.. and then show a green bar/button/something <br>
to indicate everything is OK or show a red popup saying be careful.. <br>
<p>I want to develop something similar to mcafee siteadvisor's plug in. I <br>have glossed over one code sample (the proverbial hello world plug <br>in) . <br>
<p>Question: <br>1) Is a plug in capable of this requirement? <br>2) Is a plug in loaded and started as soon as the browser is opened? <br>3) can a plug-in work like a "standard" stand-alone program, creating <br>
files (to log urls), matching etc.. making a warning box pop up? <br>4) Can anyone please let me have a pointer to a project which you <br>think is similar to the requirements I have specified. </p>
<p>(I did browse through the active projects list but was not sure which one to look up!)<br></p>
