Looking back through my spam (from 2004-2006; I wouldn't have been on this list before that), I only found two spams sent to this unique address. One was 11 May 2006 (Nigerian scam variant) and the other was 29 Jun 2006 from some Japanese address and with some Japanese charset that I didn't bother decoding or reading. Of course, now that I'm sending a message to the whole list, maybe that'll change. It's probably spammers reading the list who wouldn't get the email address from simply being on the list and reading it. Still, if you have the means, it's always a good idea to use (and document) unique addresses for pretty much everything (I funnel all my addresses into one actual real email account), and make sure it's easy to turn them off. Sure comes in handy -- I have over 250 unique addresses like that so far, created over several years, and I've only had to shut off I think two of them. But some people don't have the means -- you pretty much need your own domain and control over your own email addresses within that domain. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apology accepted, Captain Needa. -- Darth Vader -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
