[Deskcut] Should deskcut work on Linux?

I've seen at times KDE doesn't refresh the desktop at times... I've got 
a Mandrivia install (I'm sending from it now...) where the shortcuts 
don't show up all the time...  My sons machine is a Debian box that 
always seems to work... 
Go figure...
