[Deskcut] desktop not refreshing properly

I've installed deskcut v0.4.1.3 under KDE 3.4 on linux and it works but 
not exactly as I had hoped for it to.

When I click the option to create a desktop link I can see in my 
$HOME/Desktop directory that a new file has been created and it has the 
correct info in it. However, the file does not show on my desktop until 
I use some other tool such as konq to create a new desktop item. At that 
point both the konq item and my deskcut item show up.

There seems to be a refresh problem somewhere and I am not sure if it is 
KDE or deskcut.

Any ideas?
