[Deskcut] problem with deskcut 4.1.2

I can't get this to save links to my desktop.  When I go to options and change it to save to desktop, it changes it back to save the link in "Documents, Owner" but it doesn't show up on my Desktop like the previous version of Deskcut did.  I tried to re-install the previous version but it isn't compatible with Firefox 1.0.1, which is the latest Firefox version.
Any suggestions as to how to get the link to save on my desktop once again in this version?
