Hi Christian,
  So, would you want (or be opposed to) having the page reload when switching tabs?  For example, with Gmail, on tab swap I can change the profile automatically but a reload is required to cause the mail interface to resync with the mail server.  So, I was considering having a tab swap be capable of triggering a profile change and also force a page reload.  If that happened, would it meet your needs as well?

  You two have convinced me that this is worth playing around with.  If you would be open to playing around with a few early prototypes (it probably won't be for a few months since I'm off enjoying summer) then drop me an email (SteveTine at yahoo.com).

  Do you two have any suggestions for how to expose this concept to the user?  Do you think it would make sense to add a CookieSwap menu item to the menu that pops up when you right click on the tab?  I guess I could also then easily make it an option to force the page reload on tab change as well.
