[CookieSwap] Fwd: Not working

Sorry for the barrage of e-mails, but I wanted to let everyone know how it appears that CookieCuller and CookieSwap interact (once my fix is in place).

If you protect a cookie (using CookieCuller) in Profile1 and you swap to Profile2, that cookie is removed from memory (i.e. it isn't protected from a swap). If a cookie with the same name exists in Profile2, that cookie is swapped in and protected. If you swap back to Profile1, the original cookie is restored and it is still protected.

That seems to function logically (basically option #1 from my original e-mail below)

One note, if you choose "Remove all cookies" from the CookieSwap menu, even protected cookies are removed. This is also true if you choose "Remove all cookies" from the built-in Firefox cookie manager, so I think CookieCuller users are accustomed to only removing all cookies from within CookieCuller.

Just a quick update...I've found the problem. CookieCuller and I used the same name for an internal class. I'll change the name of my class to something more CookieSwap specific to fix the problem. I should have a published fix in a few days after I perform a bit of testing.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the report. I have reproduced the problem on my machine with Firefox 2.0.0.1, Windows XP and CookieCuller 1.3.1. When I initially developed CookieSwap I know I ran with CookieCuller, but now there appears to be some interaction that causes swaps to fail. I'll take a look and see what is happening

On a side note, how do you think CookieSwap should handle protected cookies?
Should the protection stay with the profile If cookie 'aaa' is protected in Profile1 and the user swaps to
 Profile2, the cookie is removed.
When the user swaps back to
Profile1, cookie 'aaa' is restored and is protectedProtected cookies stay persistent through swapsIf cookie 'aaa' is protected in Profile1 and the user swaps to Profile2, the cookie is kept across swaps and stays persistent.I'm not even sure if both options are available (I'll need to dig into the details of CookieCuller a bit), but if they were, which do you think is the desired behavior? Ideally, once we create a formal GUI it would be a nice configuration option (assuming both options were feasible).

Thanks,
Steve

I just downloded v. 0.4.7 of this extension and it's
not working on Firefox
1.5.0.8, Windows XP Pro SP2.

When I right click on the profiles and select a
different one, the old one retains it's checkmark (so
now two have a checkmark). They have to be toggled
on/off independantly. But this still isn't changing

the cookies that are loaded (looking at the cookie
list in Firefox). The statusbar always says
"CookieSwap:Profile1" regardless of which profile(s)
is selected, and the directory of profiles always has

cookies_Profile1 as the TX1 file - that never changes
(I am doing a View->Refresh on that directory listing
window).

(I have CookieCuller 1.3.1 installed.)
