Hi Jeff,
Just to make sure I understand...which of the following scenarios are you asking about:
Scenario 1:
-----------
-Double-clicking on the 'Firefox-Jeff' icon will start up Firefox with the 'Jeff' CookieSwap profile active. When finished Jeff closes Firefox.
-Double-clicking on the 'Firefox-Monica' icon will start up Firefox with the 'Monica' CookieSwap profile active.
-or-
Scenario 2:
-----------
-Double-clicking on the 'Firefox-Jeff' icon will start up Firefox with the 'Jeff' CookieSwap profile active. Jeff DOESN'T close Firefox
-Double-clicking on the 'Firefox-Monica' icon will open another Firefox window, but with the 'Monica' CookieSwap profile active.
-From that point on, Monica and Jeff can use their own windows without having to change any profiles
If you are interested in Scenario 1, then I can take a look into seeing if Firefox extensions can read command line arguments. If so, we could create Windows shortcuts that pass a command line argument to CookieSwap at startup to change the profile.
If you are interested in Scenario 2, I don't think CookieSwap can help. The only way I know to accomplish that scenario is to create multiple Firefox profiles (www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new). Once you have a 'Jeff' and 'Monica' profile, there is a trick you can play (forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=1783909) to start up two Firefox windows at the same time under different profiles. The side benefit/drawback (depending on your prospective) of this approach is that each browser window is completely independent...meaning it has its own bookmarks, extensions, preferences, etc.
Let me know,
Steve
