Steve: have you seen the CookiePie extension ( http://www.nektra.com/oss/firefox/extensions/cookiepie/ ) ?  It allows the user to create a separate cookie jar for each tab, so that you can be logged into two different accounts at the same site, simultaneously.  between CookieSwap and CookiePie, the only piece missing is the code to perform an action automatically, on a per-tab basis, before the page is loaded.  Which you can find in the IETab extension.

I think if you shoot out some emails to the authors of those two extensions, there's potential for some very good results.
