Another extension I had used to have different GMail accounts in separate tabs is IETab, which runs allows you to run Internet Explorer within a Firefox tab (which has its own separate cookies).

However I don't bother doing it that way any more now that I have CookieSwap which I also use to switch between profiles on 2 other sites (so far; only been using it for a few days) where having Firefox with AdBlock is more important.
