This is bizarre.

I created a new profile and installed the Yahoo! 0.6.x toolbar.  When 
I restarted Firefox, the toolbar appeared, and I signed in.  The 
toolbar did NOT change to the signed-in version, however.

I exited Firefox and restarted.  Now the toolbar is gray with NO 
icons.  Yes, it was the correct profile because my Firefox bookmarks 
were reset.  Back to square 1.
