[Companion] Trouble Installing Newest Version

Hello All! I have been trying to install the newest version of Companion and I have followed the instructions in the FAQs on how to get rid of the previous version but every I have tried installing version 0.5.4 I am still getting version 0.5.2. Can someone please help. Everything works fine except the Bell keeps showing like I have mail. Any help would be appreciated. I am using Firefox 1.0 BTW.
