 From your description, it sounds like you are running an older version 
of the toolbar. 

The 'About description' should have had '(Mozilla)'  appended to the 
end, and should have popped up a Javascript alert box. 

Install the 'stable' version from mozdev 
<http://downloads.mozdev.org/companion/stable.xpi> and restart the 
browser.  If that does not correct the behaviour, send me your raw feed, 
so I can look for anomalies.
