[Companion] Companion on Firefox 1.0 Pre Release

These may be really stupid questions, so I apologize in advance.

Should the recently emailed .jar files work with Firefox 1.0 PR?  I'm
referring to the yahootoolbar.jar file Brian sent out about 30 minutes
ago.  If it should work with 1.0 PR, how should I be installing?

Here's what I have done in my unsuccessful attempt to get companion running:
- grab the 0.5.2 package from companion.mozdev.org and install it
- overlay the yahootoolbar.jar in the chrome directory with the one
from the mailing list
- close all instances of Firefox
- restart Firefox
- I get no Companion toolbar

Am I trying to do something that just isn't supported yet, am I doing
something wrong, or am I just stupid?
