If the Edit -> Paste command can work, so should clippings insert. Try disabling all extensions except Clippings, and see if it works. There could be an extension that is interfering with Clippings. The only other possibility I can think of is the pointing device (mouse, trackball, touchpad, etc.) you are using. The subject box in Thunderbird's message compose window is a regular text box widget with the right-click context menu built in (this is the context menu with the undo, cut, copy, paste, delete and select all commands). Whether or not I can add the Clippings submenu to it depends on whether or not I can access the built-in text box context menu popup element in code. I will look into this for the next release of Clippings. Message-ID: Hi, first of all: Thank you for your Add-On "clippings"; makes working much easier. I`d love if I could add clippins as a firefox sidebar. I use many text-fragments and it is much easier to double click on a text in the clipping manager then go right click, clipping, text... Perhaps this is just a little modification an worth adding in one of the next versions? good day and greetings from germany From dasjoe at gmail.com Sun Oct 26 09:23:00 2008 From: dasjoe at gmail.com (dasjoe) Date: Sun, 26 Oct 2008 17:23:00 +0100 Subject: [Clippings] Clippings does not work in Firefox' Sidebar Message-ID: <2f7819db0810260923h9303781s30283edc4d552461@mail.gmail.com> I'm using a bookmark loaded in the sidebar as a simple notepad, please make it work there, too. Importing a new backup doesn't solve the problem either. I have tried uninstalling and then installing Clippings again but the corrupted data that can't be backuped anymore remains. How do I install a clean copy of Clippings (i.e. without any data) to start afresh (apart from having to clean install Firefox)??? If common clippings is enabled, look for and delete the datasource file located in your home directory on your OS, i.e., C:\Documents and Settings\ on Windows, or ~ on Unix or Linux.
