Your Clippings data that is used in Firefox is stored in a file in
your Firefox user profile directory named "clipdat2.rdf" - ditto for
Thunderbird. So when uninstalling the extension, clipdat2.rdf will be
preserved since its location is separate from where the extension is
installed.
If you want to make a copy of the data source file, you can simply
copy the above file to another location on your computer.
FYI, I did a quick test, exporting clippings data containing both
English and Chinese characters, and I had no problems.
P.S.: Could you please use plain text only for your emails to this
mailing list? The mailing list system seems to keep flagging your
HTML-formatted replies as possible spam.
