[Clippings] Install script not found

When I try to download Clippings by clicking on "clippings-2.5.xpi" in 
the installation window I get the error message "Install script not found"

Using an independent download manager I have downloaded 
clippings-2.5.xpi to my hard drive and then used File/Open/ in Mozilla 
but I get the same error message. I have Mozilla 1.7.13.

Also every time I try to download clippings I get taken to a different 
URL - what is going on?
