[Click2tab] problems with last tab

I prefer not to close my Firefox window when closing
the last open tab. If I have left only one tab and
hit the "x" at right end of tab bar, the result is to
make the last tab blank (as expected). However, if I
then request "Open Last Closed Tab", the result is to
open a new _blank_ tab - not to reopen what had been
in the last tab when that was 'closed'. Indeed, the
tab I had closed is not even on the closed tabs
list. Click2Tab has apparently (and uselessly) put
the blank page in the cache instead. Furthermore, it
does not open the 'new' blank tab in the existing
blank tab - opening a second blank tab instead. If I
have configured Click2Tab to close the Firefox window
on closing the last tab, it correctly remembers the
last tab when I next run Firefox. Am I confused or is
the behaviour when not closing the window a bug? Is
there any need at all to cache blank pages (indeed,
multiple instances thereof)?

When I use an All-in-One Gesture to close the last tab
(how I most frequently do it), the Firefox window is
closed independently of how I have configured Click2Tab.
Is there a way to fix this?

Using 0.9.5 with Firefox 1.07 under Windows 98.
