[Click2tab] Requests...

First, I want to recommend the extension Super DragAndGo to you. With
it you can select text and then drag and drop it in the content area
(no need to drop it into search bar), a new tab will be opened to
search the selected text with the current selected search engine.
Other functions in the extension include dragging a link to open it in
new tab and a picture to open it in new tab or save it. I always use
it with C2T and get no problem. Maybe you can try it:
http://superdragandgo.mozdev.org/.

Then lets return to our discussion. Frankly speaking, adding the
ability to open new URL and search result in new tab could be easily
added even from scratch. Recently I'm always being tempted to do so,
since I'm using the recent trunk builds and the current TBP doesn't
support it -- I need to press ALT+ENTER to open search result in new
tab. :)
When I began to develop C2T, one rule for me is that I want to make it
fit best for most users, no matter what other extensions they are
using. I've said in this mailing list before that I like the Unix way
-- lots of little tools make a very powerful system. That's why I
spend a lot of time to revise the code to make it work better with
other tab related extension. This way I think we can use the best
extension we found for a specific purpose, and a lot of such little
toys could make Firefox more and more powerful.
But it seems that there are also a lot of users (like you, :) ) like
the idea of using as little as extensions as possible to fit there
requirements. I should take their requirements into account too. So I
will try in the next version of C2T, to see if there are ways to make
C2T work with TBP even if I've added such functions.

But please be really patient, I'm really busy these days. We just need
to wait much longer for it. :(

Thanks again for the comments!
