Safari will ask every time and still have the box open/unchecked about
remember-in-keychain .... despite checking it to remember

Firefox will remember password and UID

Minefield will not remember and I am unable to get the button for
remember to activate when the Minefield query asks if Minefield should
remember the login name and password .. or whatever the wording is.
