[Camino] Trouble downloading aps from various sites

I'm running MacOS 10.3.9 on an imac and the latest Camino version.  
I've had consistant problems with this version and earlier versions 
downloading aps from Macfixit site or developers sites.  Usually after 
clicking download button it switches to a screen for download for a 
second then to a screen that says "if stays on for 5 seconds hit back 
button" and then automatically switches back to download screen and 
then back again to 5 sec screen. I have to close Camino screens to stop 
action.  If I switch to Safari usually the site will download with no 
problem

Looked everywhere for solution and have found no reference to problem 
so I must be lucky enough to have not done something right to prevent 
this from happening.

Any suggestions on how to correct this issue?
