I never said it was unreasonable, just that it's not something we
plan to include in Camino. (And as an aside, it is not, in fact, how
"all other browsers" work; Safari, which has most of the Mac browser
market share, doesn't include it either.)

No, it doesn't; auto-opening files after having downloaded them to a
standard location is very different than the behavior of browsers
that have "Open" and "Save" as options at download time. In those
browsers, "Open" downloads the file to a temporary location, from
which it will be automatically deleted at some later point.
