This option is set in the 'tabs' section of Camino's prefs (command-click
equals middle-click, this works for me)

Ah, sorry, this works for the bookmarks bar, you mean from the
bookmarksmanager, right? This do't behave like links and hence this doesn't
work. I can see why you would want it to though.
