Please don't scroll the tab bar!!

I agree with the people who say that a scrolling tab bar would be 
slick... in that it would definitely look and feel cool.

But in terms of functionality...

Let's say you have forty tabs open. You want to get to one of the 
off-screen tabs, but you're not sure where it is in the sequence.

With the current drop-down (which I don't love, remember), you click on 
the drop-down, and visually scan down the list of 30 or so tabs in the 
list and go right to the one you want.

If instead you had to horizontally scroll the tab bar in small 
increments, never being able to see more of them than fit in the screen 
at once, you'd potentially have to keep scrolling, and keep scanning 
different horizontal chunks until you got to what you were looking for. 
It would be much slower and more tedious.

Efficient navigation depends on being able to see things quickly. 
That's why I'd like at least an option for a wrapping tab bar (like the 
bookmark bar). A scrolling bar would actually be a step backwards from 
the drop-down, in terms of rapid visual access.
