I like it, its neat. Its a good way to remind you what site it is, 
especially if you have a bookmark-folder with bookmarks that needs 
sorting. And if it can be turned off, its also no problem with slower 
machines.

Would this be a snap-shot, or an actual render of the page? Im thinking 
in ways of JS and Flash, and that kind of stuff. Probably wouldnt want 
animations running down there... Or?

And to build upon the idea, how about making the preview selectable 
(blue focus ring), and then use the scroll-wheel on your mouse or +/- 
on the keyboard to zoom in/out? And then maybe the arrow-keys and 
especially the mouse to scroll around the preview. Just like with the 
handtool in Preview.
