The extension thinks any tagged bookmarks are duplicates, listing the tag folder entries as duplicates. If you click cancel (ie dont create a duplicate) when moving (I was dragging and dropping in organize bookmarks) then it fails to move and actually deletes the bookmark. The item is not really in the tagged folder! Also the database has not properly removed the tag, so you are left with an empty tag entry. Any ideas on this last point? Why is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1553 still showing Bookmark Duplicate Detector 0.7.5 and yet http://bookmarkdd.mozdev.org/, the homepage for the add-on shows 0.7.9 as well as 0.7.8? Usually, there is always a delay ( some days or even more than week) to get a feedback from AMO reviewers. It is normal there are more than 10'000 extensions so the work is important. But the last two versions that I pushed on AMO have been refused and let in sandbox. It is due to a new policy rule to enforce quality of extensions and avoid some conflicts between all of extension and also firefox. The problem is that versions were only bug releases to avoid some annoying bugs for users. I need to do some changes to have a compliant version. But these modifications could have some impacts so I decided to delay these modifications and planned them on 0.8 branch. I hope that most of users who encounter those bugs will take an eye on extension homepage until next release on AMO. Now some news about bookmarkdd : I added last week the URLupdate in extension package. Now users who downloaded extension from mozdev will have automatically updates. The last 100 users who downloaded version 0.7.8 and all future versions are impacted. I don't talk about new features which I want to keep secret until first 0.8 alpha1 will be published. I hope it will be possible to published it before this weekend. The alpha releases and also beta won't be available for automatic update. I will post an email to inform you of it availability. Later, I tried for the first time to transfer bookmarks from one computer to another by backing them up on Computer A, and then restoring to Computer B, on which I had installed BookmarkDD. After a couple of seconds, the box asking if I wanted a duplicate bookmark put in place came up. And then that box appeared for one bookmark after another...and soon thereafter, Firefox froze. I had to use the Windows Task Manager to close Firefox. I tried again, same thing, only finally there was an error message that something had gone wrong with the bookmarks file. I quit Firefox, restarted it, and almost all of my bookmarks had disappeared. I then uninstalled BookmarkDD, and the bookmarks restore function worked perfectly, as it had before. The promised function of BookmarkDD is very attractive, but I wanted you to know that I had a serious problem trying to use Firefox's bookmarks restore function with BookmarkDD installed.
