I could not maintain my Bookmarks without it. Suggestion - When Adding a Bookmark +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ My current suggestion is for Bookmark Duplicate Detector to provide some options to make the detection a little more robust, if desired by the user. For example: If I have a url in my Bookmarks "http://www.something.com", the following are not detected as duplicates: "http://www.something.com/" "http://www.something.com/index.html" I consider these duplicates, all pointing to the same page. However, it would be a nice addition to extend this one step further (based on a user option), and provide additional information. That information would be any bookmark that has the same fully-qualified domain name, plus protocol, would be considered the same and could optionally be displayed. This would be an option check-box, plus a button. The button would be on the Duplicate Detector Dialog box. It would not be enabled if the check-box isn't checked, and if no other pages from that domain were found. If checked and found, the button would be enabled, and the user could click the button if they wanted to see the results. For example: Options: _ Match Directory Trailing Slash _ Match File Name or Full URL _ Display All Bookmarks From Domain Problem - When Checking Duplicates From the Bookmark Manager ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ When I click the Check Duplicates button from the Bookmark manager, a list comes up display 21 of 1222 URLs. I was a little surprised by this, because several days ago I ran the Duplicate Checker, removed the duplicates, and all was good. Since that time, essentially today, I have added bookmarks, but I know they are not duplicates. And in fact, when I click a bookmark in the top list, only one folder is displayed in the bottom list, and the "Remove" button does not become enabled. Even the Bookmark Duplicate Detector knows they really aren't duplicates, so he shouldn't be showing them in the top list. But, when I restarted Firefox, and clicked the Bookmark Duplicate Detector from the Bookmark Manager, he displayed, "there are no duplicates". So what is it with newly added bookmarks? HHMmm... I tried repeating this by adding some bookmarks, deleting/adding, but wasn't able to repeat it. Suggestion - For the future +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I also use the Boomkmarks Linkchecker addon. It isn't something I use a lot, but maybe once a year. Sometime sites go away, or reorganize. This function could definitely be incorporated into this addon. As long as you are checking for duplicates in the Bookmark Manager, check to see if the site is still valid. Environment +++++++++++ Current Firefox V2 and Bookmark Duplicate Detector on Linux. Thank you.
