Isn't clicking the yellow star good enough? 
It shows the current folder that contains the bookmark anyway and you can move it
to another folder.

haha yes! I was wrong, and Max is right. In firefox 3.0 I can't add
a duplicate bookmark (via the yellow star), even if I wanted to!

when I add an already existing bookmark then the old one is MOVED to

first of all I have to say that, after using ff for many year, I have found that
sometimes  I _need_ to add duplicate bookmarks (that's just the way I work...)
and I am really annoyed by the new ff3 add bookmarks dialog.

after some more testing with ff3 and its new bookmark system I found that:

* I can add duplicate bookmarks using extension "add bookmark here"
(http://gorgias.de/mfe/)

*  if there are duplicates the yellow star dialog only show _one_
bookmark folder (the most recent?)

so I suggest that new BookmarkDD for ff3 (optionally) replace the
standard yellow star dialog, with one
similar to the old BookmarkDD for ff2:

*  showing a button to _move_ the bookmark and another to _add_ a
duplicate bookmark.

* showing _all_ duplicate bookmarks, not just one...

any thoughts?

I agree that there needs to be a way of adding 
duplicate bookmarks. I used Add Bookmark Here 
Under Firefox 2, but since it's not been updated 
for FF3 (and I had issues bumping it), I went to 
Add Bookmark Here 2 -- which doesn't seem to 
allow the behavior Marco is talking about. 
Therefore, I think the add duplicate solution 
needs to be integral to BookmarkDD. Otherwise, I think he's spot on!

    Two suggestions for a very nice program.
    1) Please put back in the option for removing all duplicates from
    whatever folder they are found in.
    2) Perhaps you could also provide a right-mouse click "Select All"
    command for highlighting the duplicate files in the top window, so
    that they as a group could be deleted.

Thank you for the screenshot. It is a very good example to put on web site if there wasn't the bug.

What happen if you resize the window ? Does it is better after resizing ?
Could you please keep a copy of your places.sqlite file (within your profile folder) which generate this bug ?
When I will find the possible origin of this bug I will ask you to test again to see if the problem is resolved.

You won't have feedback from me before one month. So be patient ;-)

It is a good idea to add more statistics : Which do you propose ?

I have same problem with BookmarkDD 0.7.2 and Firefox 3.0.1 for Windows
("Remove" button is not visible).

It's happen when I see for duplicate in RSS feed (another bug) with more 
then 40 item, so to display all they size of window make too large and 
hides "Remove" button (as on picture).

To access "Remove" button I use "Maximize" button. In that case it appear.

This product is wonderful BTW.

The issue I have found is that I can find duplicates using the feature from
the options popup, but it does not seem to work as I actually bookmark
items.  There is also no button in Bookmarks Manager to initiate a search
for duplicates.

Some things I would like:

Turn off multiple confirmation of deletion as an option

Mark all duplicates found and delete all except one version, 
Confirmation if duplicate found in a different folder.

Leave a Ghost(Greyed out) of the duplicated and consequently deleted 
bookmark that if not accessed after a user set time frame will be 
deleted permanently. (Hope that makes sence)

 First of all, thanks for starting to develop a version for FF3, I'm holding off 
upgrading until it's ready :)
 Second, a suggestion. Would it be possible to switch off the part about not 
allowing duplicates to be created? Very often I'll want to use the 'bookmark 
all tabs' option, and having to click yes or no, as it asks me for each one is 
an annoyance. The program is so good that I usually prefer to allow 
duplicates, then remove them when it suits me.
