[Bookmarkdd] detect duplicates add-on

I am using windows xp with firefox 2.0.0.7
Firefox just helpfull;y deleted all of my bookmarks and I had to fight my way t the backup file to restore them - success after a fashion.
 
I now have 3 sets of bookmarks, some folders contain complete files, some partials, some are empty. 
It gave me a total of 192 duplicates (somehow I think there are actually more).
  When trying to move them, it would give me 2-3 folders of hte same name, but not allow me to choose any other folder
when I clicked on teh top folder to at least consolidate, it did nothing whatsoever, inlcuding changing hte numbers of extras.
 
What I THOUGHT this program would do is"
A) detect duplicate folders
B) detect exact duplicate urls
C)Combine all contents of duplicate folders into one folder
D) delete (or ask me which ones I want to delete would be better, allowing sht and ctrl to selct options) all duplicate urls, leaving only the latest one in the folder.
 
Is there any chance this basically non-functional add-on will be upgraded adn activated?
