I see your point. What about a button on the "duplicate search" 
results dialog that would go through any existing duplicates listed 
to see if they're in the same folder with the same name? That would 
keep it available for only those that want it, and the search time 
through the existing duplicates list should be trivial.

It's okay of course if you don't think the limited benefit is worth 
the effort -- I just thought of that as a way to address the 
drawbacks you mention.  :)

I'm not familiar with SeaMonkey, so I won't be much help there...
